Jarel was a guest of ours who has utilized a few of our programs on and off since 2020. He worked hard to maintain his parole expectations in order to successfully complete his South Dakota parole. Jarel is originally from North Carolina, and between his prison time and parole, it had been over 10 years since he had been home to see his family.

With the help of Yankton Contact Center, we were able to assist Jarel in getting his parole transferred and got him transported back to North Carolina to be with his parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, and children.

Jarel is one of several shelter guests who we have successfully transported out of the Yankton area and into their home communities. Their chances of success increase when they have more social support from family members and friends. We are so proud to have made this happen and proud of Jarel for his hard work.
